JoJo Maman Bébé Maternity Clothes
Having a go-to brand you can rely on for great quality clothes at an affordable price is a must, and I’ve found that JoJo Maman Bébé offer just that with a wide selection to take you comfortably and stylishly through maternity and breastfeeding. When I was asked to try out a couple of items from their maternity clothes collection, I very gratefully jumped at the chance.
As we’re in the last weeks of summer, I browsed their collection for clothes that would work well with the current heatwave and that I could carry on wearing into the autumn. I picked two items – one from the Summer collection, the White Lace Trim Maternity Tunic (now on a last chance offer price of only £7!)…
and one from the new Autumn collection, the Breton Stripe Maternity Mini Skirt.
If you’re looking for a last minute buy for your upcoming summer holiday, this pretty maternity tunic is a steal at only £7, plus you can continue to wear it when you’re back home as a layering piece teamed with jeans, leggings or skirts. It is sheer, so I’ve been wearing it with a light camisole (in white, grey or black) underneath. I love the shoulder lace detail and that you can adjust the tie in the back as your bump grows. At eight months pregnant, I find the light, breathable fabric very comfortable to wear, especially in this hot weather, and the tunic is long enough to be worn with another maternity wardrobe staple, my cropped black leggings.
This black and white striped cotton skirt jumped out at me as the perfect year-round wardrobe staple to wear now with tops and blouses, sandals and flats, and wear later in the autumn and winter with tights, boots and long sleeved shirts or jumpers. The jersey over-the-bump band offers much-needed additional support now that I’m well into the third trimester, and overall this is a stylish, comfortable and great quality piece to wear. I’ve been wearing mainly dresses in pregnancy and this skirt adds some variety to my wardrobe, easy to team up with items I already own, from a simple tank top to a loose-fitting blouse, to create different outfits for a casual weekend or evening out.
Here’s how I’m wearing the skirt now in the summer and how it can be worn later come autumn!
Yesterday I wore both items for the first time while out for lunch with a group of ladies from my NCT antenatal class. Again, as the tunic is sheer, I wore a black camisole underneath (similar to the JoJo Maman Bébé one shown above), and I teamed the outfit with the Mulberry Lily shoulder bag I tote around all the time (soon to be replaced with a large diaper bag!) and, as I planned to do a lot of walking afterwards running errands, a pair of flats. A simple monochrome outfit that I was comfortable in all day.

As the weather gets chillier, the black and white striped skirt can be paired with just about any solid colored jumper or long-sleeved wrap top for a relaxed weekend look, complete with statement accessories, opaque tights and pair of wedge ankle boots or flat knee high boots. I like the added touch of the sequin detailing on this cotton mix maternity jumper, also available in silver.
